- Justin and Brandon walking high above the world…
Wow. What can I say? My students absolutely rock. After three long weeks of 6:30 play practice, hour after hour of redo’s and pulling it together, it finally paid off.
I was completely surprised by your gift of flowers! You are so sweet….and you’ll be missed. I couldn’t really talk at that time, so I didn’t get to say the things I wanted to say after the play – so – I’ll say it here.
First, I have to thank all of the students who worked so hard behind the scenes to make this play happen. You know that it shows how much we had it together! Each of the 3 hours of 8th grade C.A. did their own part to collect props and costumes. The projection show was also made up of three parts done by the three different hours. It all came together in the end! Great job. Courtney B. was running the projector backstage – Great Job!!
Additionally, Mirandah A. is responsible for the cover art on the program. Several students drew cover art, then each of the classes voted. The final program was also put together by all three classes.
Bailey C. and Mirandah A. did an excellent job as stage managers – they coordinated costumes and props backstage.
I also want to thank Alyssa’s mom for letting us borrow hospital scrubs, Mirandah’s mom for letting us borrow hospital sheets, and Taylor’s mom for bringing in the bed!
The end of every school year is bittersweet for a teacher. This year is even more so…There’s just something about a play that brings everyone together as a family. Whether it’s the long hours, or the flaring tempers, or how we support each other in the end, it is that – a family.
So many people have told me how much they are impressed with you. I’m impressed with you too.
In the words of Guillome Appollinaire, “‘Come to the edge,’ he said. They said, ‘But we are afraid.’ ‘Come to the edge,’ he said. They came. He pushed them, and they flew.”
Have a great summer, 8th grade. Good luck in high school.
~Mrs. S.
